Youth and Young Adults
Youth and young adults at Elizabethtown Mennonite Church are valued and loved. It is a place for you to be yourself and become all that God has created you to be.
Our vision and dream for you is that you will…
Youth will know God and his word through bible study, teaching, and group discussions. They will learn to study God’s word and apply Biblical principles to their lives.
Vision Verse (if applicable): Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Our vision is for youth to deeply love God and to know the depths of his love for them, by providing opportunities for youth to experience and learn about God in a welcoming and safe environment. Our goal is for youth to love God, to know the gifts God has given them, and to show that love to those around them both in and out of the church. We desire each youth to:
Grow as a person, strengthen your identity in Christ Jesus, be invited to profess a personal faith in Jesus Christ, develop skills and spiritual gifts, participate in discipleship with others, practice spiritual disciplines, and have leadership opportunities.
Be Other focused, share the Gospel, live in healthy relationships, participate in church life, serve people locally and around the world.
Learn to live in God’s Kingdom, to worship, to pray, to listen to Holy Spirit, to understand and apply Biblical truth to everyday life.
Have Fun, play games, be creative, get to know people from other cultures, and develop relationships with children, peers, and adults
Here’s some teams, events, and activities that youth participate in at Elizabethtown Mennonite Church.
Community Youth Outreach
To welcome youth from the community in order for them to experience the love of Jesus in a caring and safe environment. Our desire is to see new youth come to know Jesus and the love he has for them. Our vision is to provide fun events at the church and invite friends of current youth and community youth. If you are interested in working on community youth outreach please contact Jess or Andy at email@example.com
Vision Verse (if applicable): John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
Bible Quiz Team
Young adult life is a time to develop a healthy independence and at the same time experience the value of living in a Christian community. Elizabethtown Mennonite Church desires to walk with you on this journey of finding your purpose in the world and in God’s Kingdom. In our church young adults are serving in missions, working, attending college, and living around the world pursuing their dreams. Every young adult has an opportunity for an older adult Care-N-Connect partner who will send them care packages and regularly pray for them!
Participation in the life of the church is important. Young adults have opportunities to do this through worship, children’s ministries, prayer teams, leadership training, and many more ways to use their gifts and talents. Young adults meet on Sunday mornings for a book or Bible study and a time of prayer for each other. Once a month they eat lunch together after church and throughout the year they plan game nights and other social events.
